BAD COPS, planetmeech AFRICA 90, MEECH'S COOLEST FILM MUSIC and
This always brings a huge smile to my face and puts me in a very good frame of mind.
Unleash the vibraphone!
Whenever I listen to this I'm reminded of a Tutto Matto 12" that I would play repeatedly during my Tummy Touch phase.......Get Ready!
Still smiling.
The opening track to the album that unveiled the Ubiquity band.
Delivers exactly what you would expect, with a bit of added vibraphone.
Must be the spirit deep inside 'ya.
You may recognise that this has been sampled by the N.W.A. for their popular anti police record. I can't hear it myself, but I'll take the Internet's word for it, it's usually right. Another Go To source of information on the internet also states that at one time Roy Ayers was the most heavily sampled artist in Hip Hop, but I seriously doubt that he outstripps James Brown or George Clinton to this day.
Possibly inspired by his time spent with Fela Kuti (see planetmeech AFRICA 90)
Back to the traditional Funk sound of the 70's.
LIQUID LOVE (FEAT. SYLVIA COX)

Possibly the most popular track to be included here, but works well with the current tilt towards elements of Disco.
I would also apply the same thoughts here with Good Good Music above, this even shares very similar lyrics?
These female backing vocals remind me of a Rolling Stones/Happy Mondays type performance.
Not convinced that the lyrics here have such a deep meaning?
This, on the other hand, pure genius.
Believe it or not, this was the very first track to go into the initial playlist.
Originally intended as the closing track in the style of walk out music at the end of a show as the house lights are turned on.
Iincredible that this makes reference to a kind of future utopia that is 30 years ahead, now 20 years in the past.
