IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE MADE AWARE WHEN FUTURE PROJECTS BECOME AVAILABLE,
THEN PLEASE
THIS IS NOT A MONEY MAKING EXERCISE
IT HAS BEEN DONE PURELY FOR
THE LOVE OF MUSIC
AND WE ARE HAVING AN ABSOLUTE BLAST
BELOW YOU WILL FIND LINKS TO THE FEATURED ARTISTS ALONG WITH BASIC NOTES EXPLAINING MUSICAL CHOICES AND INSPIRATIONS
Kicking off with a classic Industrial thumper.
Whenever I see the name of this band written anywhere, I instantly hear John Peel introducing them in my head.
TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER - RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY
Tremendous stuff from this very British sounding slice of Post Punk/Goth Rock.
I'm sure that when I used to listen to this in the car all those years ago, that I never thought I'd still be listening to it today! Now it has been immortalised on my website, I'll be listening to it for many years to come........potentially?
JUDGEMENT DAY - LOVE AND ROCKETS
Thankfully, this was overlooked for my undervalued MEECHADEMIC project, when I thought there was a real possibility that we were on the verge of wrapping things up for good.
ENTERTAINING MR. JONES - ROY MONTGOMERY
A welcome break from the expected, with a more traditional approach to the art of making music. Get ready for SPACE JONES, a future project that this would have undoubtably been intergral to, had it not been firmly planted here.
DIAMOND BULLET - EFFECTIVE FORCE
This would have been extremely popular with me and any passengers that had a similar appreciation of one of the greatest motion pictures ever made. For the purposes of this mix though, I think I've removed all the clearer Marlon Brando samples.
Just the sort of thing you'd expect to hear on The John Peel Show, and just the sort of thing that I would use to compile my alternative to the standard PLANETMEECH travel cassette.
THE PLANET SWEET - KNIGHTS OF THE OCCASIONAL TABLE
As above, and it's always good to include anything with PLANET in the title.
This sounds very much like something that Andrew Weatherall would have had his hand in, but I can neither confirm or deny this. Even if he had absolutely nothing to do with it, I will be listening to this quite a bit in the coming weeks. That, I can confirm!
THE OUT SOUND FROM WAY IN - THE THIRD EYE FOUNDATION
This current selection of tracks have been perfect for me to construct an especially dreamy sequence of audio satisfaction.
Compilation Heaven!
Ready on the left, ready on the right...Level!
I'm sure this sample would get reeled out for every other Drum & Bass record at a certain point of the 90's.
I'm a huge fan of 1970's cinema,
and I love anything set in New York that falls into the Crime genre,
imagine the grin I had when I heard this line while watching Serpico ('73).
Standard John Peel 90's Electronica!
More of the same, no complaints from me.
SATURDAY NIGHT WORLDCUP FIEBER - MOUSE ON MARS
Why have I not been listening to these more than I should have been?.....Criminal!
Pram featured on FRENTZEN'S JOHN PEEL 90, but it's still criminal that I've not been listening to these enough either.
ATTACK OF THE KILLER BEES - ARCHERS OF LOAF
As far as I can tell, nothing to do with The Wu-Tang Clan, but you never know...
Archers Of Loaf are another act that I can still hear John Peel announcing in my head.
ZEN NUN DEB (SESSION) - PROLAPSE
I'm not sure if this refers to an actual Peel Session, or not?
From my very small amount of research, I cannot see any reference to this track featuring on an official Peel Session anywhere. I guess adding the word (session) to the title could be a cynical marketing ploy. However, there is no shortage of Peel Session material by Prolapse, and this must have come from somewhere?
No surprises to see another entry from Autocreation.
