CONCEPT CREATED & MIXED - ΡLΔΠΞΤΜΞΞCΗ

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE MADE AWARE WHEN FUTURE PROJECTS BECOME AVAILABLE,
THEN PLEASE
THIS IS NOT A MONEY MAKING EXERCISE
IT HAS BEEN DONE PURELY FOR
THE LOVE OF MUSIC
AND WE ARE HAVING AN ABSOLUTE BLAST
BELOW YOU WILL FIND LINKS TO THE FEATURED ARTISTS ALONG WITH BASIC NOTES EXPLAINING MUSICAL CHOICES AND INSPIRATIONS
SOYLENT GREEN (1973) - DICTAPHONE
I've under-layered this with a fairly random thing that was suggested by the YouTube algorithm about death, dreaming & reality. The track itself was unearthed in my search for the Soylent Green opening credit music for MEECH'S COOLEST FILM MUSIC, of which this is most definitely not, by the way.
YOU'VE GOT A TWIN IN THE ATTIC (YOU LUNATIC) - FANTASTIC TWINS
This was played by the sorely missed Andrew Weatherall on one of his Love From Outer Space shows, and added to a playlist for a future project straight away.
I've just realized that this is the first of five artists that I've also recently used on my ΡLΔΠΞΤΜΞΞCΗ ΔUDIOMMXXI mix. I must have subconsciously created the two shows to fit together, but I think these artists are the only real link other than the titles, and both adhering to the trusty mixed genre template.
LOST EXPERIMENT 2004 - LINKWOOD
This sounds very much like the particular brand of Dub-House that The Orb like to dabble, and that I especially love as a result!!
MINDLESS BOOGIE - HOT CHOCOLATE
I noticed this playing in the background of something I was watching on tv last night, I whipped out my phone to identify it, and it's now a vital part of this mix just twenty four hours later!
YOU KEEP ON FALLING - VIBRAVOID
Get ready for RETURN TO 51 ANGEL STREET, a dedicated Contemporary Acid Rock show...
Ha! I may just have found a replacement for Compared To What.
Although, I've just rediscovered one more version that has been languishing in my record collection. Performed by a DJ/Producer that was once held in extremely high regard by me and my contemporaries, and I really cannot believe that I've only just thought about it now.....Watch out!
I think John Lennon refereed to this as a protest song, so a natural replacement to Compared To What.
I originally thought this was a cover version of China Girl, hence it's placing here. But I'm not so sure any more, I would hope that the producers have cleared any chord progression similarities with the David Bowie estate?
SITUATION DIMINISHED - FUDGE FINGERS
Used to signal the closing of the first 45 minutes, and linking to the opener of the second half.
MUSH IN THE BUSH - MUNGOLIAN JETSET
One more act that featured on AUDIO MMXXI. These are quite good!
I'm currently listening to some earlier stuff that is just bonkers.
Initially part of my forthcoming Drugs project, but transferred for its potential of following on from the previous track.
Entering my contemporary Jazz/Funk section with music that has proved extremely popular with a multitude of Hip Hop producers over the years. This track in particular has probably been one of the most sampled, with Daytona 500 by Ghostface Killah the most obvious.
This artist has also been heavily sampled by the Hip Hop community, and I think was used on my MEECH'S RAWKUS FOUR show very recently, so I acted fast to fit this in while it was still fresh in my mind.
EL CONDOR PASA/IF I COULD - SIMON & GARFUNKEL
A very welcome departure with this slight change of pace and direction.
YELLOW ELAVATOR #2 - THE BLACK ANGELS
Quite keen on these chaps and their particular brand of retro sounding Psychedelic Rock. First featuring on my 62,000 MPH show, and will also be making another appearance again fairly soon.
MONOLITH VOODOO VIBES - MR. CHOP
Yeah, this is alright!
ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 MAIN THEME (FEAT. R TURZI) - ZOMBIE ZOMBIE
Identified in my search for music on a French themed project.
However, this stood out as worthy of inclusion here for very good reasons. I know that my very good friend HEAVY PC, is quite tuned on to the music of John Carpenter, and Mrs. ΡLΔΠΞΤΜΞΞCΗ also highly appreciates this theme as well.
ORBITAL PERTUBATION - SECRET SAUCER
This makes me think of Ozric Tentacles, only not nearly as intense. I can't quite remember how this ended up here, but I suspect the track titles and artwork drew me in.
THE AIR THAT I BREATHE - THE HOLLIES
An ever present song that is so very familiar with everyone on the planet of a certain age, and not something I've ever been a particular fan of. I caught it again very recently and knew that it would round this mix off perfectly.
