BELOW YOU WILL FIND LINKS TO THE FEATURED ARTISTS ALONG WITH BASIC NOTES EXPLAINING MUSICAL CHOICES AND INSPIRATIONS

PEOPLE OF THE UNIVERSE - BRONX DOGS

It's a shame that this had already gone down in an early mix as it would have been perfect for the space themed project P MINUS ONE

THEME FROM 17 - KINGS OF THE WILD FRONTIER

Ideal for the urgency required following on from the opener. I thought I could hear a Robert De Niro sample used towards the beginning so was encouraged to use something from Mean Streets to layer over the loop I created to bridge the space.

ESCAPE - LAIDBACK

A crossover between Beats and Hip Hop, although I remember finding it in the Beats section of the record store so tucks in here nicely.

GOTTA LEARN - DANMASS

Not quite a crossover in the vein of the above, as I think the Hip hop flavours are sampled rather than recorded specifically.

DIVINE SOUNDS - RAE & CHRISTIAN

Another (not quite) crossover that sounds closer to the Hip Hop flavours mentioned above.

SUPERFUNKY - SUPER DENSE CHILD

Added here because of my leaning at the time towards the Marble Bar record label.

BAHIAN B-BOY - DYNAMIC SYNCOPATION

Added here because of my leaning at the time towards the Ninja Tunes record label of which I was directed to by listening to the John Peel show quite a few years earlier.

ANOTHER MOTHER - THE HERBALISER

As above.

THE GEMINI IV INCIDENT - THE WISEGUYS

I remember these chaps were both very popular with me at the time and seemed to be at the forefront of this particular sub genre of club music that was sweeping across London. This was earmarked for P MINUS ONE but was cut at the last minute due to the same artists being used to round off DIRE STRAITS R YANKS  - the preceding mix.

THE SECRET OF NATURAL 7 - NATURAL 7

Added here because of my leaning at the time towards the Pussy Foot record label.

This still gives me the same amount of enjoyment upon every listen even after all these years, and  the L.P. was dedicated to Beats inspired by the Bond phenomenon - so, a double win for me.

FEEL THE COLOUR - KING KOOBA

This started life nearer the beginning of the mix, but was moved back to the second half to free up space needed for the opening. Placing it here works at setting up the feel and tone of the next round of records as we've just passed the midway point.

TENNEMENT ROCK GHETTO FUNK - P-SKI

Marble Bar - YEAHHH!

JAZZID - BUSTER

I couldn't get enough of this all those years ago and it works well with the current feel at this stage of the 90.

SLEAZY LISTENING - CHASER

As above, and every time I listen to this now, I'm really sorry to hear it coming to an end. So mixing it with this next track helps with my disappointment. Using a record from the Soma label in this mix also goes against expectations but works extremely well in this case. Soma Records are probably up there with Paisley Park when it comes to my own financial investment over the years.

BROWN SUGAR - AKASHA

Wall Of Sound- YEAHHH!

This record label left a very big impression on me. Expect (WALL OF MEECH FOUR) in the near future, unless you are reading this from the future! Then you will probably see a link???

If no link is visible, then you could still be from the future, just a different future????

Oh, this album is well worth checking out by the way and delivers exactly what you'd expect from a title like Cinematique.

DAY ONE - DEADLY AVENGER

Fits together really well when used with everything else for wrapping things up.

ROCKIN' IT - DEEJAY PUNK-ROC

This was acquired towards the start of my record buying bonanza upon my release into the wild after my prolonged hospital visit.

GHETTO PRINCESS- DECKWRECKA

One more track from an album I've been singing the praises of..... Any one of these last few records could have been used to bring everything to a close, but I thought I'd go with the least expected!
