Kicking things off with a slightly more sedate offering.
It would appear that I'm not alone in wanting to identify the vocal sample, after the usual checks on my normally reliable websites, I still cannot confirm my suspicions.
Possibly a Marvin Gaye, or very similar sounding voice talent?
It really is bugging me, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't suppose it really matters, so best to move on......
If you like this sort of thing, then I highly recommend the album,
also titled A Minor Thought.
I'm also coming up blanks with identifying the samples used within this.
In my head though it's Jimi!
No such problem with this, sampling the white suit wearing... One Way, sure to provide plenty of additional 1970's Disco-Funk for any possible Disco-Funk projects, or a continuation in the MEECHSPLOITATION series.
Nothing!
You would think that a DJ that produces this sort of thing would have a greater representation online, even my Nan has more of an internet presence.
Maybe DJ Ædididas is trying to reduce his digital footprint?
For our relocation from South of the river, to North London, six months were spent in the world's smallest flat in Kings Cross. During that time, access to my records and music storage options were limited. My only source for sounds was Internet radio, and this led me to listen to just two stations for some reason? One for Hip Hop and the other Deep House. Inland Knights were one of many new avenue's that stood out, and this encouraged me to pick up the odd bit of music once the moving process had settled down.
This is actually a remix by the Avatism arm of the CW/A collaboration with Clockwork.....Well, things will never cease to amaze, who knew?
From the single with no name, Vakula also provided music for my
90 MINUTE MINIMAL GROOVEDOWN, if you fancy some more minimal grooving?
FREYA - DEEPGROOVE & JAMIE ANDERSON
This hits the spot!
More to follow from Mr. Anderson...
BAD WEATHER MATES - SESSION VICTIM
I could have quite easily threaded the intensity of the two 'halves' together, but I'll always opt for a wind down track half way through to relate to my C90 style format.
These two tracks were always part of my original mix, but were discarded fairly early on due to each being rather longer than my standard selections. Both are quite deep, so not out of place on the strength of what I'm going for on this project.
ESTRATAGIAS - EZEQUIEL DENENBERG
So glad to have reinstated these, after persevering with three tracks that all worked individually, but really stood apart from everything else used.
You may notice that I've knitted these two together by using the breakdown from Without Sound, my favourite track on here...
6 STRING POETRY - KOJO AKUSA & LELE X
Afrofuturism from the future, as opossed to the 1970's?
WITHOUT SOUND - JAMIE ANDERSON & OWAIN K
Incredible!
As stated above, the stand out track on here.
I've also tracked down the original source that provides the sample. I'd hoped that it was from everyone's favourite sci-fi movie that features spice as the premium trading commodity, but turns out that it's actually from a BBC sound project from the 60's.
Mmmm, snacks.
Kenny Dixon Jnr. is always welcome when I'm in the mood for Deep House.
I actually started the mix with this, and kind of worked backwards?
Always very keen to finish with this anyway due to the Curtis Mayfield samples at the very end, and the mix from the track before is one that I'm especially pleased with.
