Something I picked up when I was working outside of London, and this certainly helped with the rigours of the commute.
This ties in loosely with the 'space' theme, if you consider Heaven to be somewhere beyond the Cosmos.
ZONE - INFLUX DATUM (FEAT. ROCKSTONE
The title Jazz & Bass was just enough to get me onboard.
I'm suddenly in the mood for watching a bit of Arnie...
Cracking use of samples and sound effects to make you feel as though you were being hunted......"the jungle came alive".
Not really 'Off World', but you can't deny the Funk.
If you listen very carefully, you'll hear something that resembles Lalo Schiffrin in the background.
Linking to the film title of the previous track perfectly, therefore, crying out for the transition.
This track would keep cropping up here and there a few years back and of course, made me take note to include it on a project of this nature. Links well with the previous track, not necessarily in an Off World way?
This may have been the record that tipped me off to Moving Shadow.
More to follow, maybe even a full 90?
I don't remember buying this at all!
I think it was picked up just before my memory wipe.
I've not been able to stop listening to it for the last 20 years, and used here as the centrepiece for the whole mix.
CLUSTER FUNK - FUTURE LOOP FOUNDATION
The anime style artwork and the mention of Funk from a far off place and time convinced me to buy this record.
Roliing the beat in a renegade fashion - go on then.
PSYCHOTIC LUCIFER (ARTEMIS REMIX) - SUGIZO
Funking in a renegade fashion but continuing with the rolling beat.
A bit of a taster for the excellent Moving Shadow releases.
KROSSWORLDZ (TECHNICAL ITCH REMIX) - FLYTRONIX
Continuing with the above.
This has just reminded me of something extra special I have by Technical Itch, but that will have to wait for another project...
Calming everything down relatively speaking, as we near the end.
The jazz overlayed halfway through is actually me, starting the extra long intro of the next track, but that was probably the intention of the following artist all along.
I think Peshay likes his Jazz. I listen to a fair amount of classic jazz albums myself, and I'm pleased to hear certain similarities with the structure and craft of everything on here.
Rolling our way through Funk to Jazz then Soul - all just tags!
It's all high quality rhythm, and more importantly should grab your attention!
