IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE MADE AWARE WHEN FUTURE PROJECTS BECOME AVAILABLE,
THEN PLEASE
THIS IS NOT A MONEY MAKING EXERCISE
IT HAS BEEN DONE PURELY FOR
THE LOVE OF MUSIC
AND WE ARE HAVING AN ABSOLUTE BLAST
BELOW YOU WILL FIND LINKS TO THE FEATURED ARTISTS ALONG WITH BASIC NOTES EXPLAINING MUSICAL CHOICES AND INSPIRATIONS
A great piece of Lo-Fi electronic groovin' to start things off in the exact frame of mind for what may or may not be in store for the listener...
DATA (A DEEPER THAN ONE MIX) - SWANSONG
This has always reminded me of something from Screamadelica.
C'EST LA VIE (SHINING MIX) - BAGSTRAP
Not the link to the exact mix for some reason ??? Something I picked up when the large format record stores knew their days were numbered. This, along with finding myself in Milton Keynes everyday pushed me towards buying music on an unprecedented scale.
I'd really like to hear a bit more of this.....later possibly?
I've added excerpts of an interview I found that echo the planetmeech philosophy by (a) Sadhguru.
BOMBAY PALACE PART 1 - MUHAVISHLA RAVI HATCHUD & THE INDO JAZZ FOLLOWING
This was part of a compilation of Beats with an Indian inspiration that I listened to frequently during my many wasted hours commuting.
I'm beginning to think they were not wasted hours, just preparation for this.
It conjures images of festivities on an Indiana Jones - Temple Of Doom scale.
The Bombay Jazz Palace is definitely somewhere I would love to visit at some stage - Maybe, I've already been there, maybe we all have???
As above, completely different album though.
PATH TO ASCENSION - YVES HYATT
Are you reaching the next level yet?
At last, the ever dependable Loop Guru, delivering what you'd expect.
At last, the ever dependable Trilok Gurtu, delivering....................🤣
LOVE PHAZE (FAZING MIX) - AERIAL
Calming everything down from the relative craziness of the former entry.
Continuing with the calm.
The master of the Soundtrack deserves a dedicated show.
Fits in with my loose template of having this type of work at the begining of the second half.
YOU ARE THE LIGHT - JAWABA-A-SHIKWA
As above.
JAI GANESHA (MIX FOR CHEBIJI) - EMAM & FRIENDS
Moving into groovier territory and setting things up for the next few tracks...
SITAR LIGHTS (FEAT. DVINE 1 JOEL LONG) - DJ DREZ
Now we're groovin'!
INDIAN MOTORCYCLES - SONOROUS STAR
Continuing in the current groove.
I'm quite pleased with how these last few tracks fit together.
KASHMIRI FALOODA - TRANSGLOBAL UNDERGROUND
This act featured from time to time in the early 90's on the John Peel show,
so quite happy to include them here. You will probably notice that I've changed the speed a little as it stood out from the rest. I think I've ended up with something a bit Orb/Dub like, so goes with the general relaxed feel.
I'm extremely happy with how this mixes into the last track.
Not quite as seamless though if you're listening on Apple Music, one of the main reasons that we are presenting in this format - to avoid space between tracks.
This really shows up the limitations of the 'playlist'.
BELOVED (THEIVERY CORPORATION MIX) - ANOUSKA SHANKAR
Perfect. I love Thievery Corporation, and with Anoushka Shankar linking up with other shows featuring her Father, it seemed an obvious choice to use this sublime offering here.
